Become a First-Year Rep with the Science Student Success Centre!
The is currently seeking First-Year Representatives to be a part of the SSSC team for the 2024-2025 school year!
First-Year Reps are a crucial part of the SSSC team! Their primary job is to make in-class announcements each week to communicate the SSSC鈥檚 upcoming events and initiatives to other first year students. It takes only a few minutes each week, and there are a ton of benefits:
- Get to know a small group of other first-year students in the Faculty of Science
- Meet upper-year mentors in the SSSC who can help you study and adjust to university
- Build your skills by participating in SSSC training on communication skills, campus resources and other topics
- Attend the SSSC鈥檚 fun team building activities
- Get noticed! Being a First-Year Rep is an excellent gateway for becoming an SSSC Mentor and build leadership experience
- Get Co-Curricular Credit (CCR) and volunteer experience on your resume
There are only two requirements for becoming a First-Year Rep: 1) have a positive attitude and 2) be willing to stand up in front of one or two of your classes each week to talk for one minute.
