AIReKEMA Announces 2026 Fellowship Cohort
AIReKEMA is proud to announce the first cohort of Research Fellows for 2026.聽
The twelve Fellows selected for the 2026 cohort come from diverse backgrounds, with experience and expertise in community-based, participatory research across Africa. This cohort will launch the AIReKEMA project forward in its initial year, producing valuable contributions to African Indigenous and refugee knowledge on the governance of borderlands and migratory flows in Africa.聽

The research projects undertaken by this year鈥檚 Fellows examine Indigenous and refugee knowledge systems and perspectives across a wide range of themes, including employment, climate change, community relations, gender, economics, citizenship and statelessness, governance, and conflict resolution. Collectively, these studies span the borderlands of East, Central, South, and West Africa.聽
