Research Interests and Current Research

Dr. Namakula鈥檚 interdisciplinary research follows trajectories of critical analysis, decolonization, and African Indigenous philosophy at the intersection of global political economy, natural resources, race, politics, and governance. Namakula鈥檚 primary area is focused on the struggle of those marginalized by colonial and neocolonial systems of oppression and exploitation, neoliberal authoritarianism and political repression. I am currently researching on Mineral Resource based wars/armed conflict, peacekeeping, peacebuilding and the hype of renewable/green energy in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Namakula has a keen interest in African Peace and Security; Peacebuilding, Peacekeeping, post- conflict reconstruction;聽women in peace and security. Other areas of interest include war, armed conflicts, and Corporations in Natural Resource sector; Global Politics and Governance; The Politics and economics of Race, Work and Labor; African indigenous Philosophy and approaches to governance, Peace and Security; as well as Peace, Security and Covid-19 in Africa.
