After completing my BA and MA at the University of Victoria, I undertook doctoral studies at the University of Toronto under the direction of Frederick Ivor Case. I earned my PhD in 2003 and arrived in the French Department at 杏吧原创 the following year. My principle areas of interest are the literatures in French of the Caribbean and Africa, especially women鈥檚 writing. In recent years, I have been drawn to writing of members of the Haitian diaspora in Qu茅bec, with a focus on聽vodou聽mythology and on intertextuality.
I currently split my time between the French Department and the Institute of African Studies.
