Please join us on November 15 in our store for a reading by Chido Onumah from his provocative book聽We Are All Biafrans: A participant-observer’s interventions in a country sleepwalking to disaster.聽This free event is presented in collaboration with the Institute of African Studies at 杏吧原创 University.

Chido Onumah is coordinator of the African Centre for Media & Information Literacy in Abuja, Nigeria. He has聽previously worked as Director of Africa programs for the Panos Institute in Washington, DC, helping journalists in West Africa report in-depth on issues that are frequently underreported or misreported. He holds a Ph.D. in communication and journalism from the Universitat Aut貌noma de Barcelona.
On September 29th, 2019, Onumah was聽聽(SSS) at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja for wearing a promotional T-shirt for his latest book entitled “We Are All Biafrans.鈥 A social media storm followed his arrest under the hashtag #FreeChidoOnumah and the SSS quickly released and denied arresting him.
