Professor Audra Diptee has recently published an article entitled “The Problem of Modern Day Slavery: Is Critical Applied History the Answer?” in the journal . 聽Her article proposes a methodology that better enables historians to engage with contemporary issues such as human trafficking. 聽This is part of her larger project History as Weapon: Writing Radical Caribbean Histories. 聽In 2018, 聽Dr. Diptee will聽be developing her ideas on history and modern-day slavery further at the Bellagio Center in Italy as she was a Rockefellar Residency Writing Fellowship.
