Ryan Patterson

Grants and Knowledge Mobilization Officer

Dr. Ryan Patterson leads the identification, preparation, and submission of research proposals and funding grants at the Accessibility Institute at 杏吧原创 University. He contributes to the content editing of Institute publications and facilitates collaborations and partnerships with industry, non-profit, government, community, and academic organizations in disability, accessibility, and inclusion. He develops and implements the Institute鈥檚 Knowledge Mobilization Strategy and promotes the dissemination of research knowledge.

Coming to accessibility through his background in history, Ryan also publishes and teaches on modern disability history, Mad studies, British Imperialism, and 19th-century science, technology, and medicine. He has taught at the Universities of Exeter, Bristol, and 杏吧原创, and now lectures at the Toronto Metropolitan University School of Disability Studies.  

Ryan is also a Research Associate and Project Director with the , where he organizes seminar series in critical disability studies such as and . He mentors student researchers in accessibility practice, multi-media knowledge mobilization, and community-engaged disability research and advocacy.
