Mitchell Frank publishes an essay in The Oxford Art Journal
Earlier this year, Mitchell Frank published an essay on the role of memory in discussions of art theory, practice and education in Wilhelmine Germany. Its focus is on Arnold B枚cklin, whose prodigious memory is often cited in accounts of his work. The essay, entitled 鈥溾樷e painted everything, so to say, from his head鈥: Arnold B枚cklin鈥檚 Great Memory and Artistic Practice in Wilhelmine Germany鈥 appeared in the March 2016 issue of The Oxford Art Journal (vol. 39, no. 1).
