Change the date range by clicking the dates in the top right corner and typing in your desired date range. The page will then display average stats like pageviews, bounce rate, and average time on page for your website within the selected time period.<\/p>\n<p>Below the chart, you can also see the most viewed pages on your site. Take note of these and compare them to the pages you have deemed essential. Are the pages that are most important to fulfilling your website\u2019s goals the ones that are being viewed? How many page views does it get? How long did people stay on this page? How did they get there (Email, search etc.)? Google Analytics should keep the date range you have previously applied, but you can check this in the top right corner. This module focuses on reviewing your site\u2019s analytics. Analytics provide you with data about how your website is performing, which enables you to make informed decisions about what to change on your site.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To review your site\u2019s overall performance in Google Analytics, go to Behaviour &gt; Overview in the left-hand menu. You can change the date range by clicking on the dates in the top right corner, and typing in the date range you would like to view. After setting your dates, you can view data such as pageviews, average time on page, and bounce rate..<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Below these charts, you can also see the most viewed pages on your site. In the last module\u2019s \u201cTake Action\u201d section, you identified essential pages on your site &#8211; are these represented in your top viewed pages?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, click \u201cView Full Report\u201d to see all of your pages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here, you can see analytics on all of your pages, including page views, average time on page, and bounce rate. You can also add other metrics, such as previous page path, by selecting Secondary Dimension and searching for your metric. Click it, and it will appear in the second column. You should also pay special attention here to the data for your homepage, as this is a great indicator of how your site is performing overall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next, go to Audience &gt; Overview. Google Analytics should keep the date range you have previously applied, but you can check this in the top right corner. Take note of users, sessions, page views and bounce rate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another source of data is to compare trends from year to year. You can do this by opening the date range, clicking \u201cCompare to\u201d and selecting \u201cprevious year\u201d. Hit apply and the chart will now display analytics from the previous year overlaid with those of this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can use this data to analyze your site\u2019s performance trends. Is the number of users and page views going up or down? Why might this be?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Explore your Google Analytics data further and make note of relevant information before moving on to the Take Action section.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/dd><dl><\/div>\n<h2>Take Action<\/h2>\n<p>Take note of data such as pageviews, users, bounce rate, and demographics. This data can help you understand how your pages are being interacted with and help you better refine your website. Here are some examples of what you can use this data to do:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open important pages with the high bounce rates. Can you identify what might be making people click away from these pages? Huge blocks of text, technical errors or elements not displaying properly can be major factors in bounce rate.<\/li>\n<li>Open the pages you have identified as vital to your website\u2019s purpose. Compare those with less page views to those with higher page views and ones with lower bounce-rates to ones with higher bounce-rates. Why might some of these pages perform better than others?
