Only\u2026 it looks exactly the same as before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fear not! Most likely, your changes have been saved, everything is working properly, and what appears to be a disaster is just a cache issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"what-is-a-cache\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is a cache?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A cache is a temporary storage for web pages. Caching a site allows it to load much faster the next time you visit it. However, by drawing from the cached version of the site, the newest version of the site might not appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"so-how-do-i-make-my-changes-show-up\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">So how do I make my changes show up?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The good news is that nothing is actually broken! What\u2019s happening is that your browser is showing an old version of your site, from before you made your changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To see your changes, all you need to do is clear your cache. While you can do this by clearing your browser data, the simplest way to clear your cache is to perform a hard refresh on your page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"whats-a-hard-refresh\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s a hard refresh?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Glad you asked! A hard refresh simply refreshes the page and clears your cache for that page at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"okay-but-how-do-i-perform-a-hard-refresh\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Okay, but how do I perform a hard refresh?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Quite easily, actually!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On PC, press Ctrl + Shift + R<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On Mac, press Command + Shift + R<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure you have the page open when you do this. The page should reload.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"is-that-it\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is that it?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yep! After performing a hard refresh on your page, any recent changes to the site should now appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if your changes still aren\u2019t showing after a hard refresh or two? Don\u2019t worry, Web Services to the rescue! <a href=\"https:\/\/itsjira.carleton.ca\/servicedesk\/customer\/portal\/5\">You can put in a service desk request<\/a>.
