And they did not create them &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Strange for sure, but no reason to panic. As with most software, we sometimes encounter bugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When creating a form, you can choose from a number of fields grouped as Standard, Advanced, and Post fields. If draft posts are being created on your site, you have likely used one of the <em>Post<\/em> fields when building your form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, it\u2019s easy to inadvertently use \u201cCustom Field\u201d under Post Fields when what you really need is&nbsp; \u201cSingle Line Text\u201d under Standard Fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A simple rule to remember is to only use fields from the <em><strong>Standard<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>Advanced <\/strong><\/em>groupings when creating your forms!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"290\" height=\"198\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/webservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Screen-Shot-2022-03-21-at-1.51.46-PM-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17089\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/webservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Screen-Shot-2022-03-21-at-1.51.46-PM-1.png 290w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/webservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Screen-Shot-2022-03-21-at-1.51.46-PM-1-200x137.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 290px) 100vw, 290px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"what-if-i-have-created-a-form-using-a-post-field\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What if I have created a form using a Post field?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"old-forms\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Old Forms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If the form is no longer in use, you can simply switch it off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to Forms in the lefthand navigation menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toggle the form&#8217;s switch so that it is gray<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"339\" height=\"232\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/webservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Screen-Shot-2022-03-21-at-1.58.24-PM.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17091\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/webservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Screen-Shot-2022-03-21-at-1.58.24-PM.png 339w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/webservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Screen-Shot-2022-03-21-at-1.58.24-PM-320x219.png 320w, https:\/\/carleton.ca\/webservices\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/Screen-Shot-2022-03-21-at-1.58.24-PM-200x137.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 339px) 100vw, 339px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"forms-that-are-still-in-use\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Forms that are Still in Use<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you just delete the offending field, you will lose any associated data. To avoid this we recommend you follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Duplicate the form (hover over the form name and click Duplicate)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Edit the newly created form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delete the <strong><em>Post<\/em><\/strong> field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replace it with a <strong><em>Standard<\/em> <\/strong>or <strong><em>Advanced<\/em><\/strong> field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replace the old form on your web page with the newly created form<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"delete\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delete!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have fixed up your form, you can go ahead and delete the untitled, draft posts from your site. An easy way to find them is to click on the Drafts tab at the top of the Posts listing.
