This will help your content <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/statute\/05a11\">be compliant with AODA rules<\/a>, will be more searchable and may help increase student recruitment. If you <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">aim for accessible content<\/strong>, you will achieve all of the other items too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is easier to <strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">create accessible content from the start<\/strong> &#8211; it saves valuable resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Don&#8217;t come at accessibility as a problem<\/strong>. It is a great principle of design and something we should all aim for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"practicing-accessibility\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Practicing accessibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"1-always-create-accessible-content\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Always create accessible content<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creating accessible content from the start prevents the need for future fixes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It benefits<strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\"> all users<\/strong> by making information clearer and easier to read, especially for neurodivergent individuals. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additionally, accessible content improves search engine optimization, making it easier to find.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"2-check-back-on-your-content\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Check back on your content<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Since multiple people might edit the website, regularly review your content to catch any issues.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rushed content can easily contain errors &#8211; if you are in a hurry, make sure to go back and take a look for any inaccessible content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"3-train-and-access-resources\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Train, and access resources<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ITS hosts a series of online modular training and &#8220;how to&#8221; units.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/webworkshops\/accessibility-training\/\">access accessibility training pages on our training site<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can also <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/webservices\/accessibility-resources\/\">access the list of accessibility resources<\/a> on the Web Services site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"4-ask-us\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.
