Jason Hlang<\/strong> is an I-CUREUS participant in the Aerospace Stream B program. He assisted Professor Laliberte on the project “Conversion of RC aircraft into UAVs for work as flying laboratories and geophysical survey platforms.”<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Through this project, Jason had the opportunity to\u00a0to gain experience working with composite materials, designing weight weight structures, selecting propulsion systems, generating aircraft simulation models, and working with UAV avionics systems. He gained hands-on\u00a0knowledge of UAV operations as it pertains to geophysical surveying, power plant selection, and the refinement simulator models for training and hardware in the loop simulations through analysis of real-world flight data.<\/p>\n
