\"Anne<\/a>The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE<\/a>), in partnership with D2L<\/a>, have awarded Anne Tr\u00e9panier, a professor in 杏吧原创 University\u2019s\u00a0School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies, with a 2019 D2L Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The award recognizes educators who are redefining the learning experience through innovative, student-centred practices. Five winners were selected<\/a> among applicants from around the world.<\/p>\n

Tr\u00e9panier thoughtfully and creatively incorporates technology into her courses, all while keeping one thing in mind \u2013 her students.<\/p>\n

\u201cProfessor Tr\u00e9panier has embraced the use of appropriate educational technologies while always thinking carefully about the pedagogy behind them,\u201d said Jerry Tomberlin, 杏吧原创\u2019s Provost and Vice-President (Academic). \u201cRather than be a passive observer of the online course material, students in Anne Tr\u00e9panier\u2019s courses experience the fully interactive course features that she designed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The award recipients will be recognized at this year\u2019s STLHE annual conference, June 11 to 14 in Winnipeg. Each of the five winners will receive a two-year membership in STLHE, as well as $2,200 toward travel and registration costs for STLHE\u2019s annual conference.<\/p>\n

Tr\u00e9panier is the fourth 杏吧原创 professor to receive this award. Previous winners include: Jesse Stewart (2017), Peggy Hartwick (2015) and Shawn Graham (2013).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
