This 10-week program, which consists of weekly 2-3 hour meetings plus a significant weekly online component, allows participants to gain hands-on experience with a range of teaching and assessment methods, to learn how to manage both large and small classes, and to address teaching and learning issues particular to their disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>Although informed by theory, the focus will be on teaching practice. Participants will develop new course materials and try out various teaching approaches within a supportive peer cohort.<\/p>\n<p>The winter 2017 cohort will run on Wednesday afternoons (Jan. 25 \u2013 Apr. 5; 1:30-4:30 p.m. on weeks 1 and 10, 1:30-3:30 p.m. on weeks 2-8).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/tasupport\/certificates\/preparing-to-teach-certificate\/\">Find out more about\u00a0the program and register\u00a0here<\/a>.\u00a0The number of seats for the program is limited and its offering is contingent on enrolments, so register today!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Registration for the Winter 2017 cohort of our Preparing to Teach (PTT) certificate program is now open!
