Then don\u2019t miss out on the opportunity to take part in the EDC\u2019s Preparing to Teach certificate course.<\/p>\n<p>This program offers a unique opportunity for PhD candidates to gain in-depth knowledge about teaching in a post-secondary environment. During the course of nine three-hour sessions, you\u2019ll cover topics such as assessment, feedback and learner-centered teaching all while completing a number of practical assignments, including designing a course, preparing a lesson plan, microteaching and drafting a teaching philosophy statement.<\/p>\n<p>The fall cohort will run Wednesdays from 1 \u2013 4 p.m. beginning October 2 and ending December 4, with no session during the fall break.\u00a0The last day to apply is Friday, September 27 and enrolment is limited, so register today.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/edc\/programs\/certificates\/preparing-to-teach\/\">Click here<\/a> for more information about the course and the registration process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interested in pursuing a career in teaching?
