Or have you engaged in a collaborative teaching project to enhance student learning? The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) has issued a call for applications for two awards that may be of interest to you: the D2L Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning and the Alan Blizzard Award in Collaborative Teaching.

Interested applicants for either award should submit their application dossiers to the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ University Teaching Awards Committee (CUTAC) at tls@carleton.ca for review by Jan. 15, 2021 so committee members can provide feedback and institutional endorsement.

Deadline to submit internally to CUTAC: Jan. 15, 2021
Deadline to submit to STLHE: Feb. 26, 2021

This award recognizes innovative approaches that promote student-centered teaching and learning at the post-secondary level. Candidates do not need to be members of STLHE to apply.

Winners will receive $2,200 toward travel and registration costs for the annual STLHE conference, a two-year membership to STLHE and a certificate of recognition. As many as five awards are presented annually.

Deadline to submit to STLHE: Feb. 15, 2021

This award recognizes excellence in collaborative teaching and learning in post-secondary education. The award is open to groups of two or more individuals, at least one of whom must be currently teaching at a Canadian post-secondary institution. The team can be from a single department, faculty or school, or represent interdisciplinary collaboration within or among institutions.

Winners will present their project at the annual STLHE conference. The team will receive $3,500 for travel and expenses to attend the conference and a certificate of recognition.

    The team that receives the award will present their project as a concurrent or poster session at the upcoming STLHE Annual Conference. The winners will receive up to $3,500 toward travel and registration costs for the conference and a certificate of recognition.

This award honours full-time undergraduate students at Canadian post-secondary institutions who have demonstrated outstanding leadership at their post-secondary institution and who embrace a vision of education that enhances their academic experience and beyond.

    Awardees will be invited to the annual conference of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in June 2018, and each recipient will also receive an award of $5,000.

    New Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award
    This award was established to recognize new faculty members who underscore ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´â€™s commitment to teaching excellence and innovation.

    Excellence in Teaching with Technology Award
    This award recognizes faculty and contract instructors who thoughtfully and meaningfully incorporate technology into their teaching and learning practices.
