I use TopHat for my lectures and have been using Kahoot to create quizzes for review at the beginning of class of material covered in my previous class. I also upload my PowerPoint slides onto CuLearn before class so students can use them to take notes on. The way I see it, the students are paying for their education. If they would rather surf the net than take notes, that is not for me to control. They won’t do well if they don’t pay attention. As long as they don’t disrupt others, I let them use their laptops in class and let Karma take care of them.
