Some student fees at 杏吧原创 University are established through student referenda to support shared campus services and student\u2011led initiatives. The fees listed below are mandatory and cannot be opted out of, even if you do not use the service they support (exceptions to this are noted with an asterisk below)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Department of Recreation and Athletics<\/a>\u00a0is dedicated to providing a broad spectrum of sport, fitness and recreational opportunities for our students and the 杏吧原创 University community.\u00a0 Students will have access to the Fitness Centre, Pool, Squash Courts, Indoor Walking\/Running Track, Campus Recreation drop-in sports.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The CASG student levy fee is used to support the operational costs of the 杏吧原创 Academic Student Government. CASG functions as an intermediary between students, faculty and the 杏吧原创 administration, allowing students to influence the University\u2019s decisions on administration and governance that impacts their education.<\/p>\n

杏吧原创 University Students\u2019 Association <\/strong><\/p>\n

Supports and promotes programs and initiatives that enhance the overall student experience and provides opportunities to students to succeed. It focuses on programs and initiatives that support student life, create student jobs, address mental health and wellness, preventing sexual violence, and supporting students in academic challenges and development.<\/p>\n

Accessibility Building Fund<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Accessibility Fund Committee is a capital fund that works to ensure that events and services\u00a0are accessible to all students. All clubs, societies, services, facilities, and members of the student association are able to apply for support from the Accessibility Building Fund.<\/p>\n

Bursary Fund<\/strong><\/p>\n

Contributions towards bursaries, managed by\u00a0Awards and Financial Aid<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Clubs & Societies<\/strong><\/p>\n

Supports the over 250 clubs and societies on campus. There is a club or society in almost every interest.<\/p>\n

CUSA EDI Fee<\/strong><\/p>\n

CUSA delivers services, programs, and campaigns on mental health, international students, cultural awareness, and more in support of equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives on campus.<\/p>\n

First Year Levy Fee<\/strong><\/p>\n

CUSA fee charged only to first-year students to help with their transition by delivering dedicated programming and initiatives.<\/p>\n

Foot Patrol<\/strong><\/p>\n

Foot Patrol is a student operated and volunteer based service center. They provide safe walks, the Walk and Talk service, event teams and safety support through the Guardian Program, and the Borrow a First Aid Kit service.<\/p>\n

杏吧原创 University Student Emergency Response Team (CUSERT)<\/a><\/dt>

<\/p>\n

CUSERT is a volunteer and student-operated campus response team, operating under the Department of Risk Management, within Campus Safety Services, that provides first aid coverage at university sponsored events, and on-call emergency response services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.<\/p>\n

Charlatan<\/a><\/dt>

The Charlatan is 杏吧原创 University\u2019s independent, student\u2011run newspaper that covers campus news, student issues, arts, culture, and opinion relevant to the 杏吧原创 community.<\/p>\n

CKCU FM 93.1 - CUSA Partner Levy<\/a><\/dt>

<\/p>\n

CKCU FM 93.1 is 杏吧原创 University\u2019s campus and community radio station. Founded in 1975, it was the first campus-based community radio station in Canada. CKCU broadcasts 24 hours a day on FM and online, providing locally produced, independent programming that reflects the diversity of the Ottawa-Gatineau community. The station offers students training and hands-on experience in broadcasting, media production, and industry skills development<\/p>\n

CUSA Health & Dental Plan*<\/a><\/dt>

<\/p>\n

A comprehensive plan that provides undergraduate students with coverage for services not covered by provincial health care (ie. OHIP or UHIP). Eligible coverage includes prescription drugs, dental services, vision care, paramedical practitioners, travel emergency medical coverage, and more.<\/p>\n

New for Fall 2026!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

All undergraduate students in 1.5 credits<\/strong> or more will be automatically enrolled in the CUSA Health and Dental Plan. This change lowers the eligibility threshold from 2.0 credits to 1.5 credits, aligning it with other student fees. Now if you drop a course, but maintain your full-time status with 杏吧原创\u2019s Registrar\u2019s Office (1.5+ credits), you won\u2019t be removed from the CUSA Plan.\u00a0 You\u2019ll enjoy uninterrupted coverage through the end of August 2027!<\/p>\n

Health and Counselling<\/a><\/dt>

Health and Counselling Services<\/a><\/u>\u00a0is your health and counselling services on campus. It does much more than treat illnesses; it also provides access to physicians, psychiatrists, nursing, lab services, mental health counsellors, health promotion team and student peer programs.<\/p>\n

Interval House of Ottawa provides safe shelter, counselling, and support services to women and their children fleeing violence, while also working to prevent violence through advocacy and community education.<\/p>\n
