\n South Africa’s National Arts Festival 2024\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

Project member Dr. Watkins represented the International Library of African Music (ILAM) at the 2024 National Arts Festival, the country\u2019s largest arts festival held annually in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown), Eastern Cape. ILAM\u2019s participation in the 2024 NAF included musical performances, community outreach activities, and ILAM\u2019s 70th Birthday Celebration Concert, among other events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Copeland also travelled to Makhanda to attend the NAF. Among many standout events, she attended two award-winning theatrical productions by the Indigenous company Nama Khoi Productions (\u201cSwartwater\u201d and \u201cDwaling\/ Ihare m\u00e2\u201d) and musical performances at the community arts hub The Black Power Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
