He holds a Ph.D. in Social and Cultural Analysis from Concordia University (in Montreal), where his dissertation examined how the introduction of state-led condominium housing in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, has reshaped processes of class formation, state-society relations, and everyday practices of neighbouring in the city&#8217;s rapidly transforming urban landscape. His doctoral research was supported by, among others, the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship (SSHRC) and the Wadsworth International Fellowship (Wenner-Gren Foundation). Hone has published articles in the <em>International Review of Sociology<\/em>, the <em>Journal of Modern African Studies<\/em>, <em>Nokoko<\/em>, and the <em>Journal of Indigenous Social Development<\/em>. Before moving to Canada, first as a Fellow of the Jeanne Sauv\u00e9 Foundation in 2017, Hone was a Lecturer in the School of Sociology and Social Work and Director of Community Services at the University of Gondar (Ethiopia).
