She integrates simulation-based learning in multiple courses, including in-class simulation and the Objective Structured Clinical Examination for Social Work (OSCE-SW). Brenda is part of a faculty team supporting the integration of simulation pedagogy across ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´&#8217;s clinical and direct practice social work curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brenda values simulation as a powerful teaching approach that helps students build professional confidence, receive meaningful feedback from trained actors and practicing social workers, and identify goals for their ongoing professional practice development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A committed advocate for field education, Brenda&#8217;s research focuses on mental health social work and innovative, inclusive social work pedagogy during periods of disaster or pandemic. A member of the International Network of Co-operative Inquirers, she currently teaches critical social work practice and mental health, and her current research explores the contributions of mental health peer workers in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brenda is continually curious about how theoretical learning translates into social work practice in field settings and early career.
