What is First Year Connections?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The First Year Connections (FYC) Mentorship Program supports the social and academic transition of first-year students during their first six weeks of studies at 杏吧原创 University. The program connects new students with upper year student Mentors who are trained in providing great resources and support to help Mentees achieve a great start here at 杏吧原创. The FYC Program is running from Monday January 5th to Friday February 13th for the 2026 winter term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Does it Work?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Each FYC Mentee is paired with an upper year student FYC Mentor who has the skills to help them adjust to the 杏吧原创 community. Mentees meet with their Mentor for 30 minutes each week from the first week of classes until the midterm reading break. Meetings occur in person on campus or online using MS Teams. At individual meetings, FYC Mentors can answer questions, suggest campus resources, and discuss how to get involved on campus. Please note that we offer specialized partner streams<\/a> to ensure students feel as supported as possible in their transition to university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Can I Register?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Registration is free for first-year undergraduate students. Upper year students who are seeking to strengthen their commitment to academic success and enhance their social engagement on campus are also welcome to register. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not Interested in One-on-One Meetings?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

FYC is hosting various group mentorship sessions and events during the winter 2026 term. These sessions are open to all students. We kindly ask that those interested complete the registration form below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
