In addition, student committee membership was approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"senate-participates-in-sip-consultation\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Senate Participates in SIP Consultation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Senate participated in an interactive consultation session about the development of 杏吧原创\u2019s next <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/sip\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Strategic Integrated Plan<\/a>, which included a productive conversation about 杏吧原创\u2019s strengths and vision for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"sma3-update\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">SMA3 Update<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>President Bacon and Deputy Provost Lorraine Dyke provided an update on the third Strategic Mandate Agreement (SMA3) process which is occurring in parallel with the Strategic Integrated Plan process. Bilateral conversations with the provincial government will begin in early November and will center on 10 metrics selected by the province. The process is expected to be concluded by the end of March 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"chairs-remarks\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chair\u2019s Remarks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>President Bacon provide an update on recent activities and highlights, including the Ontario University Fair, the Launch of the Marc Andrew Hewson Memorial Scholarship, Psychology Mental Health Day, Biology\u2019s Butterfly Show, the Faculty of Public Affairs\u2019 Election Primer event with diplomats from over 80 countries, as well as 杏吧原创\u2019s strong showing in the 2020 MacLean\u2019s rankings.
