{"id":5011,"date":"2022-02-01T09:33:13","date_gmt":"2022-02-01T14:33:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/secretariat\/?p=5011"},"modified":"2025-08-28T12:09:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T16:09:14","slug":"university-policies-update-january-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/secretariat\/2022\/university-policies-update-january-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"January 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"w-screen px-6 cu-section cu-section--white ml-offset-center md:px-8 lg:px-14\">\n    <div class=\"space-y-6 cu-max-w-child-5xl  md:space-y-10 cu-prose-first-last\">\n\n            <div class=\"cu-textmedia flex flex-col lg:flex-row mx-auto gap-6 md:gap-10 my-6 md:my-12 first:mt-0 max-w-5xl\">\n        <div class=\"justify-start cu-textmedia-content cu-prose-first-last\" style=\"flex: 0 0 100%;\">\n            <header class=\"font-light prose-xl cu-pageheader md:prose-2xl cu-component-updated cu-prose-first-last\">\n                                    <h1 class=\"cu-prose-first-last font-semibold !mt-2 mb-4 md:mb-6 relative after:absolute after:h-px after:bottom-0 after:bg-cu-red after:left-px text-3xl md:text-4xl lg:text-5xl lg:leading-[3.5rem] pb-5 after:w-10 text-cu-black-700 not-prose\">\n                        January 2022\n                    <\/h1>\n                \n                                \n                            <\/header>\n\n                    <\/div>\n\n            <\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Senior Management Committee met on Jan. 25 and the following policies were reviewed and approved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/secretariat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/158\/Advertising-Policy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Advertising Policy<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The policy now outlines that advertising must now meet the official standards set in the University\u2019s Brand Guidelines, not the University\u2019s Visual Identity Guidelines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The policy now applies to all parties using graphic elements, in addition to 杏吧原创 University logos and brand identifiers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/secretariat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/158\/Posting-Policy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Posting Policy<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In most cases, postings are restricted to the promotion of campus-related activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is now recommended that posters do not exceed 11&#215;14 inches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Postings can be up for a maximum of four weeks. After which time they must be removed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The university urges campus and community groups to consider non-paper promotion alternatives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All requests for alterations, repairs, maintenance or physical changes to University facilities (including bulletin boards) must be submitted to Facilities Management and Planning, through a Service Request by email at <a href=\"mailto:fmp.service.centre@carleton.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fmp.service.centre@carleton.ca<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individuals\/groups are responsible for removing their own postings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/secretariat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/158\/Brand-Identity-Policy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Visual Identity Policy<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This policy is now referred to as the Brand Identity Policy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The \u201cvisual identifiers\u201d are now referred to as \u201cbrand identity elements\u201d and include digital representations, in addition to graphic and textual representations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A new brand identity for 杏吧原创 was approved in 2021. 杏吧原创\u2019s brand guidelines can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/brand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/carleton.ca\/brand\/<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/secretariat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/158\/杏吧原创-Top5-Policy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">杏吧原创 Top5 Policy<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This policy was previously recognized as Today@杏吧原创 (TAC).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This policy covers 杏吧原创\u2019s Top 5 newsletter, which is regularly distributed to staff and faculty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/secretariat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/158\/Web-Calendar-Submission-Policy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Web Calendar Submission Policy<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This policy now details how events must be submitted, organized, and listed on the web.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This policy now outlines that it is the responsibility of the event organizer to submit, manage, edit and update events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/secretariat\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/158\/Password-Policy-for-Information-Systems.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Password Policy for the Information Systems<\/a> (minor updates)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Web versions of all policies are made available for convenience on the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/secretariat\/policies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University Secretariat website<\/a>.
