{"id":5658,"date":"2024-11-12T14:23:49","date_gmt":"2024-11-12T19:23:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/?p=5658"},"modified":"2024-11-12T14:23:49","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T19:23:49","slug":"in-memoriam-sylvain-pitre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/scs\/2024\/in-memoriam-sylvain-pitre\/","title":{"rendered":"SCS Memoriam to Sylvain Pitre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is with deep sadness that we inform the 杏吧原创 community of the death of Sylvain Pitre, Manager, Research Computing Services, who passed away on Feb. 23, 2019, after a brief illness.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Pitre has been associated with the School of Computer Science since 2001 where he completed his Master\u2019s in Computer Science (M.C.S), Ph.D. in Computer Science, and was a MITACS and NSERC Postdoctoral Fellows. He also worked at the school as a tutorial assistant, research assistant and was a contract instructor for various computer science courses.
