Congratulations, Dr. Nicola Santoro, on receiving the 2024 Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing!<\/p>\n

The prize is given for outstanding papers on the principles of distributed computing, whose significance and impact on the theory and\/or practice of distributed computing have been evident for at least a decade.<\/p>\n

The committee bestowed this prestigious award to Dr. Nicola Santoro<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and Dr. Peter Widmayer<\/em> for their paper:<\/p>\n

The awarding committee noted that “the seminal paper by Santoro and Widmayer combines original conceptual contributions with deep theoretical insights and stands out as a significant stepping stone in our theoretical understanding of distributed computing.”<\/p>\n
