Please be advised that HCS is extending the intake deadline to Monday, January 24 at 4:30 PM for Asian Student Narrative Therapy Group(“Fighting Anti-Asian Racism and Healing Racial Trauma”). We currently have a few students registered for the group, however we require min. 5-6 students in order to confirm and run the group this term.

Students who self identify as Asian and are interested in this group counselling program, please call HCS at (613) 520-6674 ext. 2 to register for intake. The information package is attached here again for further information. All intake calls will be conducted on Tuesday, January 25.

Technolgap is Ottawa’s community for post-secondary womxn-in-tech, currently with 200+ community members around Ottawa in various programs such as computer science and engineering. ?

Through our slack workspace, Technolgap members share job postings and opportunities, give each other advice about resumes and courses, organize study groups, and connect with each other! Members can also take advantage of Technolgap-exclusive events put together by our organizing team; in the past, we’ve invited engineers and recruiters from companies like Shopify, Square, and Coursera to run professional development workshops exclusively for Technolgap members. ?

Technolgap is looking for volunteers for this winter! ? ?

鈥�鈥�If you identify as a womxn-in-tech and you’re looking to get more involved with the community this winter, Technolgap is looking for volunteers!

We have roles to fill across many departments, from design, to development, to social media content-creation, to event organization. Every member of the organizing board will ownership over something — whether that’s organizing your own event, or having your own content segment on our socials, it’s up to you! This means you will have room to make decisions and contribute your own ideas to the community (ps. this would look great on your resume).

Are you a 杏吧原创 student looking for bite-sized, resum茅-boosting experience? Then apply for a Discovery Challenge!

Hosted by the Discovery Centre, Discovery Challenges are short-term, virtual mini-projects (maximum 6-8 hours of work) that count toward your co-curricular record. Challenges are proposed by 杏吧原创 staff, faculty, and recognized student groups (e.g., CUSA clubs & societies) who are looking for fresh, student perspectives. See here for an idea of what Discovery Challenges might look like.

New Discovery Challenges will be posted every month. Find open Discovery Challenges on the volunteer job board in mySuccess (via 杏吧原创 Central). The first round of Discovery Challenges will be available on Monday, November 23. Submissions via Riipen are due by Friday, December 18 (see the mySuccess job post for details on accessing Riipen). When you鈥檙e done the project, complete this form to automatically get CCR credit.

Some Discovery Challenges limit the number of students who can participate, so don鈥檛 wait to participate!

As we’re getting closer to cuHacking 2021, we wanted to take some time to get your opinions on online events, hackathons, and online hackathons in general. Below is a survey that shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes to fill out. By filling out the survey, you can gain a chance to win a $25 gift card of your choice (within reason). In addition to the survey, we’re looking for some new team members to join us in the coming weeks! 鉂勶笍 cuHacking is 杏吧原创’s main hackathon (and also Ottawa’s largest MLH event ?). Our team consists entirely of student volunteers across various programs at 杏吧原创 University.

If you’re interested in event planning, digital design, marketing and growth, and crafting meaningful experiences for students across the world, cuHacking is a perfect team to join as a student!
