One placement, with <a href=\"https:\/\/faunalytics.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Faunalytics<\/a>\u2014a non-profit organization that conducts research to directly support individuals working in animal advocacy\u2014was research-based. I used both qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze data, prepared figures and tables to assimilate statistical\u202fdata, handled and protected confidential data and information, and reported results to a general audience. This allowed me to develop my knowledge translation skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My second placement, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/ontariocaregiver.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ontario Caregiver Organization<\/a> (OCO)\u2014a non-profit that exists to support Ontario\u2019s informal caregivers\u2014was more focused on program development. I took part in program planning, implementation, and evaluation. I also piloted a new intake tool with informal caregivers and adapted it to meet the needs of the OCO. I have made positive, life-long connections through my placements. I have also had the opportunity to experience different workplace cultures and receive feedback on my performance outside of academia, which is invaluable. I highly recommend the Practicum in Psychology!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Fast forward to 2026, I\u2019m thrilled to share that I recently stepped into an acting role with the OCO as the Acting Program Lead for Peer Support and Young Caregiver Programs.
