Dr. Bruer\u2019s research focuses on children\u2019s evidence, memory, and communication in investigative and legal contexts. Her primary research interests include 1) children\u2019s eyewitness memory and disclosure, 2) factors that influence the accuracy and completeness of children\u2019s reports, and 3) best practices for interviewing children in legal, forensic, and service contexts. Her applied work also examines how professionals respond to children exposed to violence and how research can inform trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate practices across legal and community settings.
