These changes provide greater clarity about the remit of roles, align with sector practices and strengthen the connection to our institutional values and strategic directions. Please note that the changes are exclusively about titles and portfolio names and do not in any way affect the status of incumbent office holders.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vice-President (People, Finance and Operations)&nbsp;<\/strong><br>Formerly Vice-President (Finance and Administration), this revised title highlights leadership in human resources, organizational culture, employee wellbeing and operational areas such as facilities, IT and infrastructure. Duane McNair, who joined 杏吧原创 in December 2024, continues in this role. He brings over two decades of senior leadership experience and a strong commitment to innovation, equity and continuous improvement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vice-President (Research, Innovation and International)&nbsp;<\/strong><br>Formerly Vice-President (Research and International), this revised title highlights the growing importance of entrepreneurship, commercialization and global partnerships in advancing research and societal impact. Rafik Goubran, a Chancellor\u2019s Professor and internationally recognized researcher, continues to lead this portfolio. Since his appointment in 2017, he has championed multidisciplinary research and global collaboration.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>University Governance Secretariat \/ University Secretary and Chief Governance Officer&nbsp;<\/strong><br>Formerly University Secretariat \/ University Secretary, these updates reflect the office\u2019s central role in supporting bicameral governance, fiduciary accountability, compliance and institutional policy development. Amanda Goth, who has served as University Secretary since 2016, continues in this role. A 杏吧原创 alumna and seasoned governance professional, she is a trusted advisor to both the Board of Governors and Senate, ensuring the integrity of our governance processes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Office of University Legal Services&nbsp;<\/strong><br>This new name replaces the Office of General Counsel and enhances clarity about the services provided by the office, helps to make those services more visible and accessible, thereby enabling earlier engagement for legal guidance, risk management and policy support. Richard Sinclair, appointed General Counsel in 2024, leads this office. He brings extensive legal expertise in higher education and a collaborative approach to institutional strategy and compliance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These updates mark an important step in ensuring that our leadership structure continues to support 杏吧原创\u2019s strategic goals and evolving mission.
