Her research explores cognitive development and cognition, focusing on individual and developmental differences in mathematics. Her projects have included research on the role of language in mathematical learning for school children and the development of tools for assessing early numeracy skill. Her research focuses on the intersection of Black studies and Jewish studies &#8212; including diaspora literature and culture and global Holocaust studies. Rogers&#8217; research explores how relationships impact the educational and emotional development of children and youth. She is the Canada Research Chair in Child and Youth Mental Health and Well-Being. Awarded once every two years, it recognizes outstanding contributions to biological science. Fahrig studies the effects of landscape structure on the abundance, distribution and persistence of organisms &#8211; particularly the effects of roads and traffic on wildlife populations. The prestigious award is offered every two years.
