Re$earch Infosource, an independent research and consulting firm, has ranked 杏吧原创 among Canada\u2019s fastest growing research-intensive universities. 杏吧原创\u2019s external research income has reached more than $97 million, an increase of 12.7 per cent over the previous year and a 79 per cent over the past 4 years. This rapid growth places 杏吧原创 second among comprehensive universities in Canada in research income growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c杏吧原创\u2019s researchers are on a roll,\u201d said 杏吧原创 President and Vice-Chancellor, Benoit-Antoine Bacon. \u201cThis fall, Dr. Lenore Fahrig was awarded the Gerhard Herzberg Canada Gold Medal for Science and Engineering<\/a>, the country\u2019s top science and engineering prize, and this announcement confirms the extraordinary overall growth and impact of 杏吧原创\u2019s research.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

杏吧原创 appears in seven of Re$earch Infosource\u2019s Winners Circles, which represent the top universities by category. 杏吧原创 showed impressive growth in funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), as well as in corporate research growth, which saw a 48.6 per cent increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

杏吧原创 also shows a significant 37 per cent growth in active research partnerships with not-for-profit groups. This reflects the trust external research partners have in collaborating with the university. Finally, the university\u2019s notable five-year growth in research income through NSERC and SSHRC demonstrates the intensity, breadth and depth of 杏吧原创\u2019s research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur continued growth in research intensity is gratifying,\u201d said Rafik Goubran, 杏吧原创\u2019s vice-president (Research and International). \u201cIt is rewarding to see researchers recognized for taking bold and innovative approaches to tackling the world\u2019s biggest challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
