It will focus on the impacts of COVID-19 experienced within communities, and how people can work together to strengthen community resilience beyond the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11 a.m.<br>\n<strong>Registration<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.ca\/e\/seizing-the-moment-pandemic-recovery-and-partnerships-ontario-tickets-151057726727\">https:\/\/www.eventbrite.ca\/e\/seizing-the-moment-pandemic-recovery-and-partnerships-ontario-tickets-151057726727<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A recording of the event will be provided on May 28, 2021 at ccecanada.ca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event will feature 杏吧原创 University&#8217;s Prof. <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/polisci\/people\/andree-peter\/\">Peter Andr\u00e9e<\/a>, Department of Political Science, and 杏吧原创 alumna Magda Goemans delivering a keynote presentation titled, <em>Building resilience to future large-scale challenges through community-campus collaboration<\/em>. This presentation will recap key lessons learned about gaps in non-profit and public infrastructure exposed by the COVID pandemic, before considering how partnerships between community-based organizations and the post-secondary sector can help address future challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through an engaging panel, keynote speakers, and facilitated sessions, participants in the workshop will reflect on the steps taken by community partners and consider paths for community-campus partnerships to address impacts of this crisis and beyond including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Learning about promising strategies and innovation from rural and urban communities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hearing about the experiences of organizations working to support marginalized communities throughout the pandemic.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discussing the role of campus-community partnerships in creating a post-pandemic future that is inclusive of everyone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Considering how community-campus partnerships may address community needs, building on promising strategies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identifying opportunities for collective action to address the gaps in public and non-profit infrastructure exposed by the pandemic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This event is spearheaded by the Community Engagement and Research Centre (CERC) at the University of Regina and Community Campus Engage Canada (CCEC). The Ontario sessions of Seizing the Moment are co-ordinated through 3ci with the support of 杏吧原创\u2019s Deputy Provost.
