At the same time, we are experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak in residence and several COVID-19 cases involving varsity athletes. Currently, 14 students have tested positive for COVID-19 and, as per our protocols, they are self-isolating. We are working with Ottawa Public Health in regard to contact tracing and have asked all direct contacts to also isolate as per public health regulations. All of the necessary protocols are in place to minimize the risk of community transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of an abundance of caution, and to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we have closed all lounges in residence until at least April 13, 2021. Practices with the affected varsity teams have been suspended until further notice and the High-Performance Centre in Athletics has also been closed until further notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We continue to require all students and members of our community who have been on campus to <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/covid19\/covid-19-symptom-reporting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">report any symptoms<\/a>, including mild symptoms, potentially linked to COVID-19. This has allowed us to quickly identify individuals who may have COVID-19 and take the appropriate steps to protect our community. Medical staff have been made available and are continuing to provide direct support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The health and safety of all members of the 杏吧原创 community is the university\u2019s top priority. We must all do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19. We encourage everyone to review the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/covid19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COVID-19 information website<\/a>&nbsp;for preventative steps.
