What could be better than that?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He went on to study law at the University of Toronto, the Universit\u00e9 Paris I-Sorbonne and Columbia University before joining the Faculty of Law at Queen\u2019s University in 1991.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flanagan served as Dean of Law at Queen\u2019s from 2005 until 2019, working closely for two years with 杏吧原创 President <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Benoit-Antoine Bacon<\/a>, when he was Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) at Queen\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBill is an accomplished and innovative educator, legal scholar and leader.\u201d says Bacon. \u201cI offer him my warmest congratulations and wish him the very best in his new role.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI had the great pleasure of working closely with President Bacon during his time as Provost at Queen\u2019s,\u201d says Flanagan. \u201cBenoit was most generous with his wise counsel as I considered the move to the University of Alberta and I look forward to working closely with him in my new role.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new president at the University of Alberta is a 杏吧原创 University alumnus.
