\n 杏吧原创\u2019s Centre for Urban Youth Research Involved in Ottawa Writers Festival Youth Showcase\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

The Republic of Childhood Youth Forum<\/em> will host the event Write on! Chapbook Showcase and Breakout Sessions<\/em><\/a>. The showcase features the literary work of students from Woodroffe High School, as well as youth with lived experience of homelessness involved with 杏吧原创\u2019s Centre for Urban Youth Research<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The showcase will also feature 2019 Ottawa Book Award winner and 杏吧原创 graduate student, Kagiso Lesogo Molope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media are invited to attend the student showcase.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When<\/strong>: Friday, Nov. 22, 2019 at 1 p.m.
\nWhere<\/strong>: 杏吧原创 Dominion-Chalmers Centre, 355 Cooper St., Ottawa<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After having participated in a series of intensive writing workshops, the young authors will share their literary creations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The showcase will include guest presentations by Prof. Jacqueline Kennelly of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology<\/a>, Prof. Claudia Mitchell from McGill University and Maya Shetreat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

杏吧原创 the Republic of Childhood Youth Forum<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Republic of Childhood Youth Forum<\/em> is a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council funded collaborative initiative between the Ottawa International Writers Festival, 杏吧原创 University and the University of Ottawa. The forum promotes writing experiences that centre children\u2019s voices and celebrate their stories. The forum joins children and youth in Ottawa with researchers, policy-makers, and community members. The young writers exercise their rights to self-expression and participation by sharing their stories and insights about Canada\u2019s current and future challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
