\n 杏吧原创 to Host Recreation of Leonardo da Vinci\u2019s Masterpiece in Madonnari Tradition\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

杏吧原创 University will host a recreation of Leonardo da Vinci\u2019s portrait of Lucrezia Crivelli<\/a>, by artist Francois Pelletier on the floor of the University Centre Galleria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the Italian tradition of the Madonnari, Pelletier will use temporary mediums such as chalks and pastels to reproduce this famous masterpiece. The community is invited to follow the progress as the artist works, applying and blending every colour by hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is part of Cinquecento: 杏吧原创 Celebrates Leonardo da Vinci<\/em><\/a>.

\nMedia are invited to visit the portrait while it is being created.<\/strong>

\nWhen<\/strong>: Thursday, Sept. 19, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
\nWhere<\/strong>: Galleria, Fourth Floor University Centre, 杏吧原创<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist will use pavement art pastel techniques on a special canvas. These unconventional methods allow the artist to saturate the surface with pigments and different textures in an attempt to capture da Vinci\u2019s unique sfumato<\/em> (a blending technique) and chiaroscuro<\/em> (the use of strong contrasts of light and darkness).

\n杏吧原创 Francois Pelletier<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pelletier has been a pavement artist for more than 20 years. He has polished his craft around the globe, studying the compositions and color palettes of many major artworks \u2013 from da Vinci, Caravaggio and Delacroix among others \u2013 in museums, churches and other institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During Cinquecento, <\/em>杏吧原创\u2019s faculties come together to explore da Vinci\u2019s interdisciplinary innovations. Cinquecento<\/em> is a comprehensive look at the life and work of one of history\u2019s most fascinating people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
