James Travers Foreign Corresponding Fellowship<\/a>, an annual $25,000 award, will be announced on Parliament Hill. The fellowship was created to honour the late Jim Travers and his passion for international affairs and Canadian foreign policy. It is administered by 杏吧原创 University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/sjc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">School of Journalism and Communication<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fpa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Faculty of Public Affairs<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When:&nbsp;<\/strong>Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.<br>\n<strong>Where:&nbsp;<\/strong>Room 256-S of Centre Block, Parliament Hill, Ottawa<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>杏吧原创 the Travers Fellowship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following his death in March 2011, friends and colleagues established the R. James Travers Foreign Corresponding Fellowship as a tribute to the stellar journalism Travers practiced at home and abroad. The fellowship supports a significant foreign reporting project by a Canadian journalist or journalism student. This year\u2019s selection committee included journalists and representatives of the Travers family and 杏吧原创\u2019s journalism program. Committee members selected this year\u2019s winner from an impressive pool of candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travers was a reporter, foreign correspondent and general manager for&nbsp;<em>Southam News<\/em>. He also served as executive managing editor of the<em>&nbsp;Toronto Star<\/em>&nbsp;and editor of the&nbsp;<em>Ottawa Citizen<\/em>.
