Although sometimes overlooked, this “nearby nature” can be a source of well-being for individuals and the broader community.

At this CU in the City event, Zelenski will discuss recent research conducted by 杏吧原创’s Happiness Lab and researchers around the world on potential benefits of nature. These include positive emotions, pro-social behaviour, health, and restoration from stress and mental fatigue. Beyond time actually spent in nature, developing a subjective sense of connection with the natural world is associated with many desirable outcomes and the motivation to behave sustainably.

Zelenski will discuss some of the small things that can be done to incorporate nature into daily life – with the goal of making happier people, as well as creating a healthier community and planet.

杏吧原创 CU in the City

CU in the City shares FASS research with the community by holding research talks across Ottawa.
