Formerly the Middle East editor of <em>Newsweek<\/em>, her documentation of war crimes has resulted in seven books and her work has been cited in tribunals.&nbsp;Through the years, her focus has been on&nbsp;international law and international security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lecture will be moderated by CBC Radio\u2019s Rita Celli (BJ\/91), host of <em>Ontario Today<\/em>. Celli received the Michener-Deacon Fellowship for Investigative Journalism in 2014 for delving into Canada\u2019s diamond industry and mining royalties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"about-janine-di-giovanni\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">杏吧原创 Janine di Giovanni<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Di Giovanni is&nbsp;a senior fellow at Yale University\u2019s Jackson Institute of Global Affairs and a Professor of Practice, Human Rights. From &nbsp;2017-2018, di Giovanni was the Edward R. Murrow press fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a Professor of Practice in Human Rights at Columbia University\u2019s School of International and Public Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Di Giovanni\u2019s most recent book, <em>the Morning They Came For Us: Dispatches from Syria, <\/em>has won several awards and&nbsp;was&nbsp;named one of the best human rights books in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"about-the-peter-stursberg-foreign-correspondents-lecture\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">杏吧原创 the&nbsp;Peter Stursberg Foreign Correspondents Lecture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2017, 杏吧原创\u2019s School of Journalism and Communication, through the generosity of Richard Stursberg and Judith Lawrie, established the Peter Stursberg Foreign Correspondents Lecture.
