A campus map is <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/campus\/wp-content\/uploads\/map.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">available online.<\/a><br>\n<strong><br>\nMedia are invited to attend the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this lecture, Off will examine the profession&nbsp;of&nbsp;journalism itself. In the journalist\u2019s quest to balance obligations as a human being with the obligation to bear witness, Off will discuss the line of impartiality and whether there are times when it must be crossed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lecture will be moderated by veteran journalist Joyce Napier, Ottawa bureau chief for <em>CTV National News<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"about-carol-off\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">杏吧原创 Carol Off<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Off has reported extensively on both Canadian and international current affairs \u2013 delivering powerful coverage of conflicts and events from across the globe. She reported on the fallout from the 9\/11 disasters from New York, as well as from Washington, London, Cairo and Afghanistan. She has covered Canadian military missions around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is the author of numerous books, including <em>All We Leave Behind: A Reporter\u2019s Journey into the Lives of Others \u2013 <\/em>winner of British Columbia National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction, as well as a finalist for the Hilary Weston Writers\u2019 Trust Prize for Non-Fiction and the Governor General\u2019s Literary Award for Non-Fiction. Off\u2019s work has been recognized with a Gemini; two gold medals from the New York Festival of Television; a selected screening at the Monte Carlo Television Festival; several awards and citations from the Columbia Television awards; a Gabriel award; a B\u2019nai Brith Award and number of awards and citations from the National Radio and Television Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"about-the-kesterton-lecture\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">杏吧原创 the Kesterton Lecture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kesterton Lecture, 杏吧原创 Journalism\u2019s signature annual public event, honours Wilfred Kesterton\u2019s pioneering contribution to journalism education in Canada.&nbsp; Saskatchewan-born Kesterton was a newspaperman and Second World War veteran when he became one of the earliest graduates of 杏吧原创\u2019s Bachelor of Journalism program in 1949.
