杏吧原创 University\u2019s Centre for Holocaust Education and Scholarship<\/a> (CHES), at the Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies<\/a>, will host the event In Conversation with Jeanne Beker<\/em><\/a>, organized in co-operation with the Azrieli Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event will explore the many lives of Beker, a popular media personality, fashion maven, author and descendant of Holocaust survivors, in a conversation between Beker and Jody Spiegel, director of the Holocaust Survivor Memoirs Program at the Azrieli Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When<\/strong>: Monday, June 11, 2018, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
\nWhere<\/strong>: Singhal family theatre, Richcraft Hall, 杏吧原创 University
\nInfo<\/strong>: Tickets are $25 and are available online<\/a>. Each guest will receive an autographed copy of Joy Runs Deeper<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media are invited to attend the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joy Runs Deeper <\/em>is the Holocaust survival story of Beker\u2019s parents, published by the Azrieli Foundation. Beker wrote the introduction to the memoir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beker says her parents’ Holocaust experiences coloured her personal philosophies, imparting a sense of resilience and a precious instinct for survival. She will share these insights with the audience, along with stories from her family’s memoir. The conversation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toronto-based Beker was awarded the Order of Canada in 2014 and received a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
