As cannabis is legalized nation-wide this year, Linton will discuss the emerging industry and its potential for economic and social good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.<br>\n<strong>Where<\/strong>: O\u2019Born Room, National Arts Centre, 1 Elgin St, Ottawa<br>\n<strong>Info<\/strong>: Tickets for this event are sold-out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Media are invited to attend the event. Linton is available for interviews.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ottawa Leadership Luncheon series, hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/alumni.carleton.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">杏吧原创 University Alumni Association<\/a>, features prominent alumni or community leaders who discuss topics of interest with alumni and the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"about-bruce-linton\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">杏吧原创 Bruce Linton<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Linton is the founder of Canopy Growth Corporation and co-founder of Tweed Marijuana Incorporated. Canopy Growth was the first cannabis-producing company in North America to be listed on a major stock exchange and included on a major stock index. Linton\u2019s focus has been driving the company\u2019s overall strategy, including its Canadian and international expansion efforts. The company is laying groundwork for its future move into cannabis-based consumer products with the founding of subsidiary Canopy Health Innovations and cannabis-based beverages through a strategic partnership with Constellation Brands. Linton has served as chairman of the Ottawa Community Loan Foundation, board member and treasurer of Canada World Youth and president of the Nepean Skating Club.
