Kerim Uras, former Turkish Ambassador to Canada and Senior Fellow at NPSIA’s Centre for Modern Turkish Studies (MTS), offers a firsthand account of the migration crisis that gripped Europe in 2015–2016 and the landmark Türkiye-EU Agreement that followed. Drawing on his experience as Ambassador to Greece during this pivotal period, Uras examines the political, humanitarian, and diplomatic dimensions of irregular migration and Türkiye’s evolving policy response.
