Once launched, the searchable online database will make it possible for individuals to access the artist\u2019s amazing career and find new ways of thinking about Morrisseau\u2019s impact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Morrisseau Project database aims to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be a repository of Morrisseau artworks: about 3000 works that span his entire career, with a focus on the years from 1955-85<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Highlight Anishinaabe cultural knowledges &amp; Morrisseau\u2019s own words<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be an interdisciplinary &amp; holistic research tool that includes stories, letters, videos and other multi-media from throughout his life<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Built on the platform Argus by Lucidea, our database brings together artworks with other aspects of Morrisseau\u2019s life, like his letters, notes, drawings, writings, and videos to help audiences today appreciate how he used story as the basis of his works of art.
