As the current organizer of the Japanese conversation group, I wanted to create a space where everyone feels safe and included while speaking Japanese and learning about Japanese culture. As a Japanese learner, martial artist, and musician, I feel learning another language opens up multiple avenues of opportunity you may never have thought of. It’s an amazing way to broaden your horizons, explore emotions through a different lens, learn about other people, and make lifelong friends. Being a computer science student, I see the connection to my major, where different coding languages can be used for different purposes to solve a collective human problem, etc\u2026 In such a way, language learning can actually help you to be more empathetic towards others, see where they are coming from\u2026 and see how you can contribute to the greater good of humanity by sharing perspectives and learning from each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
