  1. To connect via Remote Desktop from a MAC:

Note: Before trying to connect to your work machine from home, you will need to find out the full name of your PC at ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´ i.e. pcab40x-xx.cunet.carleton.ca You can find this out (PC) by clicking on the Start Menu and then right-clicking on the word ‘Computer’ and selecting Properties. This should then display a window with the computer name in it.

Before proceeding with the instruction, you  must first .

To connect via Remote Desktop from a MAC:

  1. Remote Desktop should be automatically installed on your home version of MAC (if you have Microsoft Office installed). The easiest way of finding it is to type ‘Remote desktop’ into the search tool in the top right hand corner of your screen. If Remote desktop is not found then you can download a copy for free, from the Mac
  2. Once Remote Desktop is installed / running the Remote Desktop connection box will appear. In this box you will need to enter the full computer name of your PC at work i.e. pcab4xx-xx.cunet.carleton.ca
  3. Click Connect and you should be prompted for your username and password. You will need to connect by entering your username in the cunet\username format i.e cunet\firstnamelastname. The password is your normal MyÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´One password.
  4. Click connect and it should open up your remote desktop connection to your PC at work.

  3. On the ‘Enter your credentials’ windows you will need to click on the ‘More choices’ link and click on ‘Use a different account”, here  enter your username using the following format: cunet\username. The password is your normal MyÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´One password.
  4. Click ‼«°­â€™ and it should open up a remote desktop connection to your PC at work.
