Seyfeddin Kara presents "Shi士i Reports on the Distortion of the Qur鈥檃n: Nature and Origins."The notion of the distortion of the Qur鈥檃n has been one of the thorniest topics in the academic study of the Qur鈥檃n. Although it has been mainly attributed to Shi士is, since very early on, Shi士i theologians have denounced such a possibility, taking a firm position on the textual integrity of the Quran. Nevertheless, several reports, mainly attributed to the fifth and sixth Shi士i Imams, indicate that the original Quranic text was distorted. In this lecture, I will discuss the findings of my ongoing research that, for the first time, traces the origins of some of these Shi士i reports.
