Endowed in 2021 by an anonymous donor.<\/p>\n<h3>Christine van Loon Memorial Scholarship<\/h3>\n<p>Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Director of the Centre for Initiatives in Education, to an outstanding Indigenous student who has completed the Indigenous Enriched Support Program. Eligible recipients will have fully participated in all aspects of the Indigenous Enriched Support Program and are proceeding into a program of full-time or part-time study at 杏吧原创 University during the following academic year. Endowed in 2019 by Catherine Van Loon in memory of her daughter Christine.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>All undergraduate students are automatically considered. Preference will be given to students entering the program from Manitoba. Endowed in 2021 by C. Robert Kelly and family.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Syer-Torrance Inspiration Awards<\/h3>\n<p>Awarded annually on the recommendation of the Director of the Centre for Initiatives in Education to outstanding Indigenous students who have been nominated by their Indigenous student peers. Recipients will have made an exceptional contribution to the Indigenous Enriched Support Program (IESP), will have completed at least 3.0 credits in the Fall\/Winter term, have fully participated in all aspects of the Enriched Support Program and are proceeding into a degree program at 杏吧原创 University during the following academic year. Donations to the fund continue to be made on an ongoing basis to support students in need. Learn more about the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/indigenous\/cisce\/indigenous-student-emergency-fund-procedure\/\">Indigenous Student Emergency Fund<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Entrance Bursaries<\/h3>\n<p>If you have been admitted to 杏吧原创 with an admissions average of 80 percent or better, you will automatically be considered for a renewable entrance scholarship at the time of admission. The admissions average we use is calculated from the grades submitted by your high school in support of your application. Entrance scholarships are offered for fall entry only.\u00a0 You may be offered a renewable entrance scholarship provided you are entering 杏吧原创 for the first time from high school or CEGEP and have no previous attendance at post-secondary educational institutions. To be considered for an entrance scholarship, the University\u2019s Admissions Services must receive your complete application for admission and all required grades (either directly or through the Ontario Universities Application Centre) by June 15. Entrance scholarship offers are not assessed or reassessed on final high school grades.<\/p>\n<h3>Prestige Scholarships<\/h3>\n<p>Our highest awards are our Prestige Scholarships: the Chancellor\u2019s Scholarship, the Richard Lewar Entrance Scholarship, the 杏吧原创 University Scholarship of Excellence, the 杏吧原创 University SHAD Scholarship, the Jay Woo and CAA Scholarship, the Riordon Scholarship, and the Collins Prestige Scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>You will be considered for a prestigious scholarship only if you are entering 杏吧原创 directly from high school or CEGEP. Students who have previously attended a post-secondary educational institution (either college or university) are not eligible for these awards. For all prestige scholarships, you must achieve an admission average of 90 percent or better. The selection committee will also assess the range of your community or secondary school extra-curricular activities.<\/p>\n<h2>External Indigenous Student Awards<\/h2>\n<p>Indigenous students may also be eligible for various awards from organizations and associations outside of 杏吧原创 University. There is a wide variety of external scholarships and bursaries available for First Nations, Inuit and M\u00e9tis students.<\/p>\n<p>The Centre for Indigenous Support and Community Engagement recommends the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Indspire \u2013 Building Brighter Futures\u00a0<a title=\"Indspire Scholarships and Bursaries\" href=\"https:\/\/indspire.ca\/programs\/building-brighter-futures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indspire Scholarship and Bursaries<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aandc.gc.ca\/bursaries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Indigenous Bursaries Search Tool<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/kpmg.com\/ca\/en\/home\/careers\/students\/student-programs\/indigenous-student-programs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">KPMG\u2019s Indigenous Student Awards<\/a> are available to Indigenous post-secondary students in the pursuit of post-secondary education across Canada.\u00a0 Preference will be given to students studying in the following programs: Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Information Technology, Human Resources, Communications, and Marketing.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.metisnation.org%2Fprograms-and-services%2Feducation-training%2Fpost-secondary-education%2Fmno-justice-legal-education-bursary-program%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7CLaneBourbonniere%40cunet.carleton.ca%7C9dd24314cc6b4c7f176d08defd32d490%7C6ad91895de06485ebc51fce126cc8530%7C0%7C0%7C639226593771210414%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=JIRyVEi6hbTGS%2BnSMvqLW%2Fvk53c39N6mVChNPK4%2Barg%3D&amp;reserved=0\">MNO Justice and Legal Education Bursary Program:<\/a>\u00a0 This program is designed to reduce financial barriers and support M\u00e9tis learners pursuing legal education and legal service professions, creating more pathways for M\u00e9tis voices into Canada\u2019s legal system. This program is funded by a grant from The Law Foundation of Ontario\u2019s Access to Justice Fund, as part of its commitments to Truth and Reconciliation and access to justice education for Indigenous students across Canada.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nwmb.com\/en\/conservation-education\/jorgen-bolt-memorial-nunavut-wildlife-management-board-scholarship\">Jorgen Bolt Memorial Award:<\/a> To support Nunavut students pursuing post-secondary education in wildlife biology, wildlife management, or the application of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit in wildlife management.
